General Electric has decided to forgo a partnership with Google and has formalized a strategic partnership with Zoho for its 400,000 desktops. GE made the decision after a vigorous evaluation of both products. ”GE is a master at taking costs out of established processes, they do it relentlessly and continuously and they know how to evaluate and manage the risk of working with start-ups. Where GE break a trail, others are likely to follow,” according to Bernard Lunn of ReadWriteWeb.

Swisscom Switzerland’s largest telco has chosen Zoho for a six month pilot for its Zoho Business Suite which is now available on their Software-as-a-Service portal Teamnet.

Adobe has announced the beta launch of Acrobat.com, a suite of online services hosted by Adobe that allows you to create documents together and share them. It’s a software as a service (SaaS) solution intended to increase productivity and collaboration. The idea is that people can create documents faster without email attachments or version control issues.

Zoho has added another application to their suite of innovative online solutions: Zoho People, and says they want to become the HR Department for small and medium sized businesses.
Zoho People is mostly targeting businesses with more than 50 employees where HR needs are becoming a potentially costly challenge. The application has modules for organization structure, defining and listing job positions, forms for the hiring process itself, and more.
