Twitter has raised $15 million in venture capital giving the social communication and microblogging phenomenon a market valuation of $80 million. Given the exploding popularity of the website, especially among the digital elite, this value would seem pretty modest compared to recent market activity like the purchase of CNET by CBS for $1.8 billion or Google’s purchase of YouTube last year for 1.6 billion.
