Larry Ellison: Cloud, SaaS All Gibberish

Last week in San Francisco, Orcale unveiled the company’s Cloud Computing solution. It includes partnerships with Intel to collaborate on technology and another with Amazon to run Oracle software on Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2).
Larry Ellison, Chairman, Founder and CEO of Oracle shared Oracles vision and opened the floor to questions. The first one question was: What is Oracle doing about cloud computing? Oracle Turns Homepage Into Suggestion Box

Oracle.com has turned its homepage into a listening post; unregistered visitors to the page can submit ideas, comments and suggestions. Registered visitors can submit ideas which can be voted up or down by other members in the Oracle community. Look for the “Participate with Oracle” box on the top right hand side.

Ellison: No Money In SaaS - Google Is The Risk

SaaS is all the rage these days. Cloud computing and SaaS are new paradigms and are one of the fastest growing segments on the web operations side. However, Larry Ellison, the founder and CEO of Oracle has said that his company hasn’t participated in the software-as-a-service trend because there’s no money to be made there.
