Environmentalist Taps Google Earth To Educate Consumers

Google Earth is helping environmentalists in their fight to save the planet. Environmentalist groups can now show consumers visual imagery of the impact human are having on this planet.
Appalachian Voices, which campaigns against coal mining that removes mountaintops provides consumers images of specific mountaintops that have been razed to provide coal for their electricity providers, and potentially for their own homes. Appalachian Voices is providing individuals with links to protest to their legislators or power companies about the mining, which it says is bad for the environment, miners and the local communities.

The service allows you to add links to your “shared stuff page” by adding a bookmarklet to your web browser’s “Links” or “Bookmarks” bar or by clicking this Share button, which currently only seems to be available on Google Video but is likely to be made available for embedding on any website.
Upon clicking the icon, a popup allows you to choose whether you want to share a thumbnail image and article preview taken More»

Interview with Jon Wiley, User Experience Designer, Google Apps

I am an avid user and fan of Google Apps and judging by its growing popularity, I am certainly not alone on this. I recently had an opportunity to interview Jon Wiley, User Experience Designer, for Google Apps to gain some insight into this suite of apps. Jon was also recently a panelist at the Usability 2.0 Event at the WebGuild on April 11, 2007.
Q: You work on Google Apps. Can you tell the readers a little about it and what you do on Google More»
