Start-Up Sues Google Potential $1 Billion In Play

LimitNone LLC, a tiny start-up that builds a tool for migrating customers off Microsoft’s Outlook email software and on to Google’s Gmail as filed a trade secrets lawsuit against Google.
The suit claims that Google had initially promoted the migrating tool. Google then copied the idea and went into competition with LimitNone.

There are reportedly plans underway to transform your email into a social network. Yahoo and Google are looking at turning their e-mail systems and personalized home page services (iGoogle and MyYahoo) into social networks.
“Web-based e-mail systems already contain much of what Facebook calls the social graph — the connections between people. That’s why the social networks offer to import the e-mail address books of new users to jump-start their list of friends. Google's Gmail Rolls Out IMAP

Google’s Gmail, (Nasdaq: GOOG) announced that Gmail users will have access to IMAP. IMAP allows users to synchronize their e-mail across multiple devices.
This will be good news to users of iPhone and third party email clients that utilize the Gmail service. With IMAP if you delete an email from one device that action will be synced with Gmail so that you do not have to delete the same message twice.
