Topic:
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG): A Revolutionary Web Standard
Abstract:
Ever wish you could have complete control of how your web page looked? That
you could easily use downloadable fonts, dynamically generate graphics out
of a database, create time-based animations, print your web page at printer
resolution, use standard filter effects to create drop shadows or lighting
effects on any graphic or text, or tweak your graphics with your favorite a
text editor? Well, the W3C has just granted your wish with the SVG or
Scalable Vector Graphics standard.
In this presentation, Glen H. Gersten will not only discuss the
capabilities of SVG, he'll show you how easily SVG graphics can be created
and manipulated, review some of the current tools available for SVG
development, and show a number of fully functional SVG applications that
demonstrate how this new standard is about to change the face of the Web.
