Panel: Trends in Web Design

Abstract:

Please join our esteemed panelists Karen Tenenbaum of Adobe.com and Charles Brewer from Agency.com as they talk about the latest trends in web design. Ms. Tenenbaum will tell us about design aethetics, while Mr. Brewer will focus on methods of organizing content. At the conclusion of the presentation the panelists will announce the winners of the Silicon Valley WebGuild Web Site Design Contest.

About our Speakers:

Karen Tenenbaum is an Art Director for Adobe Systems Web department who has been with the company off and on for eight years. Her background includes graphic design, professional photography, and photo illustration. Since 1986 she has worked closely in each discipline, combining computer technology with a wide variety of media including the web, multimedia, film and video, journalism, and instructional publishing.

Charlie Brewer is Senior Information Architect at AGENCY.COM and is responsible for creating information and content structures, navigation systems, and interactive experiences for the web initiatives of his corporate clients. Charlie has been involved in interactive media since 1995. Before joining AGENCY.COM, Charlie worked at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA, where he developed NASA-internal websites, researched and spoke on web policy, and helped train other web designers. He draws on his background in information architecture, multimedia, technical writing and instructional design to create solutions to problems in human communication and performance.
