Job Description
Product Manager - Social Networks

A successful and rapidly growing social dating website with more than 36 million registered users is searching for an imaginative and experienced Product Manager to own the P&L and product management oversight of critical site features and functionality.

The ideal candidate will have over 3-5 years of online product management experience with consumer-facing social web products; agile/scrum experience; and past responsibility for driving toward online direct revenue or subscription revenue goals. Experience owning an external developer or API program is a huge plus. Additionally, previous experience with social networking and/or online subscription products is a plus.

Responsibilities:
* Own key metrics and product management oversight for the company\\\'s third-party developer model (understanding external developer needs vis-a-vis the company\\\'s current products/applications, creating requirements for developer tools, communicating enhancements, growing and determining metrics for the developer community, defining a business model for the platform, and finding ways to make developers successful )
* Lead cross-functional development teams (market and user research, interaction/visual design, engineering, marketing/PR, customer support, community management, billing/operations, and data analytics) to launch and continuously improve core features and functionality
* Identify site-wide product enhancements that will improve monetization of both new and existing users
* Work with management to formulate business cases for new products, create innovative ways to monetize user activity, and help craft a compelling long-term vision for product
* Define, track and improve upon key business and product success metrics
* Develop a comprehensive strategic understanding of industry landscape (including virtual worlds/goods, gaming, online expression & dress-up, and social networking) and identify areas for competitive differentiation
* Understand customer needs by segment and use that knowledge to create delightful online experiences that drive ever-increasing user engagement, retention, and addiction
Skills

Qualifications:
* 3+ years of online product management experience in profitable, high-traffic social network
* Proven track record of developing, launching and improving consumer-facing internet applications on time and within budget, ideally in both entrepreneurial startups and larger corporate environments
* Results-oriented ability to get things done in a fluid start-up environment with limited resources
* Specialized understanding of online monetization best practices and hands-on experience with maximizing online consumer engagement
* First-hand working experience with agile/scrum software development methodologies
* Strong quantitative analytical skills and a relentless attention to operating and usage metrics to identify opportunities for product optimization and business growth
* Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities and articulate the financial and strategic impact of decisions
* Ability to move fluidly between high-level strategic thinking and take-charge management of day-to-day details; equally comfortable with seeing the “big picture” and meticulously thinking through every interaction requirement of online development projects
* Strong awareness of current web technologies, trends, products, and design standards
* BA/BS required, MBA and/or engineering/CS degree a plus
