Job Description
Marketing Evangelist/Blogger for Innovative GPS Firm

The Company:

Dash Navigation (www.dash.net) has just launched the first Internet-connected GPS device. Dash is a Silicon Valley startup backed by some of the world’s top Venture Capital firms including Sequoia Capital and Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers and is aiming to fundamentally changing the commuting experience. If you enjoy an entrepreneurial, dynamic working environment in a very hot market space, Dash is the place for you!

The Job:

Are you passionate about technology? Do you always need to get your sweaty little paws on the newest tech toys? Are you the person that your friends point out when asked who has an ear for the heartbeat of what is cutting edge? Do you read tons of blogs? Are you a V8 powered blogger yourself? Are you built to participate in tech communities, user groups, beta programs, etc? And as a bonus – are you the kind of person who can’t live without your GPS? You’ve had several. You are frustrated that the existing technology doesn’t really solve your commuting needs. You want to be a part of the company that will revolutionize GPS. Look no further….

At Dash Navigation (www.dash.net) we are looking for such a person to help us evangelize the “Dash Express”, connect with prospective and existing customers and develop a strong community. The "Dash Express" is a paradigm changing GPS machine. Automotive GPS will never be the same after the release of this unit. It takes GPS from a "get me from here to there" paradigm, to a paradigm in which GPS is integrated into one's daily life and becomes just another tool to make all sorts of travel and non-travel related stuff easier and more convenient.
The company has been funded by Sequoia and Kleiner.
This critical role includes:
• As the Dash Evangelist, you will be “the voice” of Dash.

• You will own Dash’s corporate blog. You will build a community of passionate Dash supporters. You will take on tough industry issues. You will encourage community contributions, facilitate conversations and come up with ideas for great new content. You will create community assets such as podcasts, developer interviews, product updates, and product tips and tricks.

• You will monitor the blogosphere and actively participate in the conversation. When someone is chatting about Dash or connected GPS, you will be there. You will communicate with consumer netizens through email, chat, online forums, blogs and websites on related topics.

• You will be actively involved with the Dash Beta Program, engaging with the tester community to answer their questions and get their ongoing feedback.

• You will build the Dash Evangelist Program from scratch. You will identify early evangelists and provide them with the information and tools to help build the Dash Driver Network and spread the word about Dash.

The right candidate:
• Has a deep knowledge of and passion for technology
• Is one of those “connectors” that makes other people want to follow them
• Has experience with, and passion for, creating and consuming new content types: websites, blogs, podcasts, wikis, etc.
• Is an active blogger (This is a must! – be prepared to show me your stuff)
• Will be the go-to person when it comes to what's hot and what's not on the Web.
• Is a self-starter with the willingness, and desire, to “roll up your sleeves” and get the job done
• Has masterful interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a juicy Web 2.0 style
• Has the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Might have past experience as technology evangelist- this is a plus!
