POSITION: Engineering Manager - Web Development

The key skills for this position are: Web 2.0 and Social Media experience. PHP and MySQL are highly desired but not mandatory. This person will handle a team of 3-4 people under him/her.

Job Description:
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to head up the design and development of client*s Web products. As a hands-on manager, you will be responsible to build and manage the web team and interact with internal clients for planning, design and execution. You will be the go-to expert on web development processes, setting the course for effective solutions and in-house education of emerging technologies.

Job Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a high performance web development team.
* Coordinate with Product, Marketing and Operations teams for all design, development and deployment activities.
* Social media Networking experience, Web 2.0
* Hands-on technical leadership and participation in all aspects of the client web development.
* Facilitate and drive a fast-paced development environment with an open and fun attitude.

Required Skills:
* Demonstrated track record of designing, developing and maintaining highly available web solutions.
* Proven ability to lead on technical issues and be able to harness team strengths to solve problems.
* Ability to work in varying strategic and tactical situations and be comfortable handling both high level requirements and implementation details.
* Can-do spirit and a great sense of humor.

Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience in Software development with at least 4 years of management experience, preferably at a technical leadership or engineering manager level. Software development process experience is essential: includes project planning, defect tracking, source control methodologies.
* Proven experience with PHP and MySQL based application development. Fluency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript are essential.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to deal with multiple projects, cross functional teams and rapid development mindset is necessary.
* Experience in scaling web applications is highly desirable.
* Experience in social media or online community development highly desirable.
* BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant discipline and experience.
