John Lehman, Founder of Verity & Sageware and CEO & President, High Classify
An
information retrieval, information architecture, taxonomy, knowledge management and content classification expert with over 30 years of software experience. Initiated and managed every aspect of application software from R&D to sales to operations and support. Founded three companies, Verity Inc, Sageware Inc, and HighClassify Inc., all dedicated to content analysis and retrieval.
HighClassify provides taxonomies and other classification services and solutions.
Founded Sageware to develop and provide taxonomies, taxonomy rule sets, and automatic content classification software to over 50 commercial and government organizations. Contributor to the UN/SPSC product classification standard.
Founded Verity in 1988, based on technology developed under the sponsorship of the Central Intelligence Agency. Developed Verity's national and international partners and its intelligence, law enforcement, customer support, pharmaceutical and litigation support applications.
At Advanced Decision Systems, led the development of proof of concepts, and prototype expert system decision aids, including rule-based information retrieval used in Sageware, Verity and HighClassify product lines.
As a C3I software executive, led development of one of the first commercial relational DBMS' and windows/icon based UI's. Began research in information retrieval technology in early 70's. A Vietnam era veteran, Mr. Lehman was an Air Force officer from 1969-1972, specializing in airspace command and control software, which is still in use at many U.S. airports, and in the AWACCS airborne command posts.

Tom Reamy Founder & Chief Knowledge Architect, KAPS Group
Tom Reamy
is currently the Chief Knowledge Architect and founder of KAPS Group, a group of knowledge architecture, taxonomy, and eLearning consultants.
Tom has 20 years of experience in information architecture, intranet management and consulting, and education and training software. He has worked on the client side, as part of a vendor company, and as a consultant. Clients include Chiron, Northwestern Mutual Life, Genentech, Visa, and others.
Tom's academic background includes a Master's and ABD in the History of Ideas, research in artificial intelligence and cognitive science, and a strong background in philosophy, particularly epistemology. He has published a number of articles in Knowledge Management, Intranet Professional, EContent, and KMWorld, and is a frequent speaker at knowledge management conferences. He is currently at work on a book on knowledge architecture.
When not writing or developing KM projects, he can usually be found at the bottom of the ocean in Carmel.
