Joseph M. Craven, Information Systems Department, Carroll Burdick & McDonough, LLP, Director of IS Joseph Craven is the Director of IS for CB&M, LLP. Joseph's primary responsibility at CB&M in 1999 was to rapidly implement a secure world wide extranet for a major European manufacturer to assist in managing CB&M's rapidly growing product liability coordination work. Joseph and his IS team worked with the client and internal practice group to define the system's capabilities, and evaluated many of the commercial systems and consulted with companies to find the ultimate solution. After an exhaustive search and pilot testing of various solutions, CB&M and the client chose for CB&M to internally develop a fully web based solution, integrating products from Worldox, Microsoft, and Zylab with custom developed web forms into a system called iCase. CB&M continues to examine industry trends and available products, perhaps to adopt the next opportunity. Prior to joining CB&M, Joseph led the technology groups of another mid size law firm and that of a private labeled division of Sprint, responsible for nationwide telephone and data network design and implementation. From his roots using the "old" technology communication tools, Joseph has promoted and implemented the possibilities using modern and rapidly developing collaborative computing tools and systems. Joseph M. Craven holds a BSME degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. |
