Dick Craddock, Development Manager, MSN Hotmail Web Service
Dick Craddock is the Development Manager for the MSN Hotmail Web
Service. Hotmail, with over 200 million active accounts, is the world's
largest web-based email service. Dick has worked in Silicon Valley for
almost twenty years, doing everything from chip design to application
development, and has been with Microsoft for the last ten years.
In his
time with Microsoft, Dick has worked on a wide variety of products - he
wrote email applications for the Macintosh (Mac Outlook Express),
managed the development of Mac Internet Explorer, and worked on consumer
DVR products and TV software (UltimateTV, MSTV). Lately, he has been
managing a group of passionate and dedicated developers working on MSN
Hotmail and Calendar. He has the good fortune to get paid for doing what
he loves to do: develop products that lots of people use everyday to
communicate with each other.
Dick holds strong opinions on Macs, PCs, Windows, the virtue of CSS, the
miracle of managed code, Agile development, and many, many other topics.
He suspects that the Internet will be an important medium for
communication for some time to come, and is very excited to be working
on communication services.
