Steve Jobs was honored with a very private memorial service held on the campus of Stanford University on Sunday. The security at the event was like at a United Nations General Assembly attended by 170 heads of state.
However, if you were in the silicon valley this past weekend you probably got a glimpse of some of the big wigs out and about the city.
There were some impressive guests in attendance, as reported by the Stanford Daily, the Silicon Valley Business Journal and SF Chronicle:
* Bill and Hilary Clinton
* U2 lead singer Bono
* Microsoft Chairmen Bill Gates
* Oracle CEO Larry Ellison
* former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
* former Vice President Al Gore
* Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel (who Steve Jobs gave a six figure donation to)
* Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi
* California Governor Jerry Brown
* California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom
* Dell CEO Michael Dell
* Salesforce.com’s CEO Marc Benioff.
* Rupert Murdoch
* Intuit Chairman Bill Campbell
* Google CEO Larry Page and his wife Lucy Southworth
* Comedian and actor Tim Allen
* Adobe co-founders Chuck Geschke and John Warnock
* Actor Stephen Fry
There is one more event scheduled to commemorate the life of the Apple co-founder in Cupertino on Wednesday, and Apple Stores will close for an hour so that employees can watch it via live webcast.

I'm not an apple fanboy, but Steve Jobs was a brilliant man. It's a shame that he's gone so young, but he's surely made the best out of every year he had on our little blue plane. RIP Steve.

What an impact Steve Jobs has made on our lives. Just look how far we've come and how much we rely on technology to bring us together. May his spirit live on through continued innovation in his honor. He will surely be missed.

The head of the garbageman's union was also there to pay tribute to the millions of tons of disgarded Apple computers that ended up in landfills around the world as Apple computer encouraged everyone to disgard last month's product and buy the latest product. Yey Steve Jobs – hero of the working man!
