Torture In Bahrain Aided By Nokia Siemens

Disturbing report on how Nokia Siemens aided Bahrain authorities in the torture of a school administrator and human rights activist by providing the authorities transcripts of his phone calls and text messages.

Bahrain, a U.S. ally, has been silencing anyone that has knowledge of tortures as well. Paramedics, doctors and nurses who treated torture victims are beaten into silence so they don’t talk about it. Prosecutors in Bahrain have charged dozens of medical workers with crimes such as “incitement against the regime,” for talking about medical treatments provided to victims reports Human Rights Watch.

Nokia spokesman Ben Roome, confirmed the sale of surveillance software and interception programs to Bahrain. More>>
