The iPhone is coming to Verizon, according to industry analysts.
Verizon is holding an event at the Lincoln Center in New York on Jan 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. and it is expected to announce the iPhone on it network then.
“If it looks like a duck, talks like a duck and walks like a duck, it’s probably a duck,” said Yair Reiner, with Oppenheimer & Co.
Getting on Verizon means Apple could move an additional 10 million iPhones in 2011 according to analysts. It will also end AT&T’s exclusivity with the iPhone and slow momentum for Google’s Android phone on the Verizon network.
“By getting on to Verizon, Apple has the opportunity to sell more iPhones and could potentially slow Android’s momentum at the carrier that has been that platform’s most important patron,” Reiner said.

Android in trouble? Ha! I wish I had those kinds of troubles. Still a meteoric rate of growth because of their horizontal product strategy (many manufacturers producing Android platforms).
Once again WebGuild is using factually incorrect headlines, bashing Google unnecessarily, and playing Apple fanboy… I'm waiting for the next headline to reference this one as FACT…
