Logitech’s adventure with Google turned out badly for the company after the death of Google TV.
DigiTimes, the leading industry website, reports that Gigabyte, the company charged with building the Google TV units for Logitech, has been instructed to stop production of them.
Investors flushed Logitech’s shares down the toilet on the news on one of the highest volumes in its history. Influential investment banker BNP Paribas (EPA: BNP) downgraded shares of Logitech from an “outperform” rating to a “neutral” rating.
Logitech went into the adventure thinking it would end up a world leader in digital television not the butt of jokes in the television industry.Channels: google: tv, logitech
