CNN’s social media czar Rick Sanchez was fired for saying that CNN and the other networks are all run by Jewish people.  The Cuban-American anchor made the statement on the Stand Up! show with Pete Dominick over a conversation on current events, media, and journalism.

During the conversation Sanchez called Jon Stewart a bigot saying he is against “everybody else who’s not like him.”

Dominick suggested that Stewart could understand what it is like being part of an oppressed minority group because was Jewish.

Sanchez rescoffed at the claim, snickered and suggested that CNN and the rest of the media is run by Jewish people (Full Story “Stand Up with Pete Dominick” blog).

This is the second high profile anchor that CNN has fired. In July, CNN fired Octavia Nasr it’s Senior Editor of Mideast affairs for expressing her condolences on Twitter over the passing of Lebanese cleric Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, who she considered “one of Hezbollah‘s giants I respect a lot.”

  2. Personally, I thought Rick Sanchez wasn't a great CNN asset. However, this is censorship – plain and simple. Wasn't Rick Sanchez paid to express his opinions? And, if someone can't express their sadness at someone's death, well then our country has become a corporate police state.

  4. To the person who blathered about opinion vs. fact, as if everybody agreed it was a threat, please consider this viewpoint. And about ten more from different angles.
