HP CEO Mark Hurd Accuser Porn Star Jodie Fisher

By Daya Baran at August 08, 2010 13 Comments    Share

The  women accusing HP CEO Mark Hurd of sexual harassment and the one that cost him his job has been identified as porn star Jodie Fisher. Fisher was hired by HP to introduce executives to each other at events and make them feel comfortable. She was paid $5,000 to $10,000 per event for her services. Her services included accompanying Hurd to dinner when he was out of town.

Fisher has hired celebrity attorney Gloria Allred to represent her and she released a statement saying that she was surprised to learn that Mark Hurd lost his job and she wished him and his family the best.

Fisher states that she formerly worked at the United States Senate Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Control, starred in television shows and films including Sheer Passion, Easy Rider, Body of Influence 2, Tough Love and Intimate Obsession to name a few. She recently appeared as a contestant on the NBC-TV reality dating show “Age of Love(video below), in which twenty- and forty-something women desperate to make mortage payments claw each other’s eyes out for the affections of tennis star Mark Philippoussis.

The NYTimes reports that Hurd made payments to her using company funds and padded the books to hide it. He was in the middle of salary negotiations where he was asking $100 million for his 4 year term.

  1. Daya Baran and WebGuild:

Unless Jodie Fisher has actually performed as a porn star, labeling her as one is unfair. Has Jodie Fisher ever performed as a Porn Star? Is this assertion accurate? Or, is this just a cheap way to attract eyes to your article?

  5. Okay, so the fact that HP hired escorts to entertain their executives is highly unethical and illegal. Hello, Heidi Fleiss??

  7. Yeah but there is something wrong with an HP CEO that pays her out of the business coffers and then tries to cover it up. Yet another incompetent , corrupt CEO from HP – following in Carly Fiorina's footsteps. I wonder how much his Golden Parachute will be.

  8. As he made almost $100 MILLION in the last 3 years he is a victim of his own penny-pinching ways! Seems like he could have sprung for dinners on his own dime instead of billing HP for them. After all the layoffs he has ordered, it seems a bit like karma!

Also, his super-authoritative top-down management style may have pleased Wall St but the morale at HP has been at an all-time low.

  9. Hurd wasn't fired for sexual harassment. Sexual harassment was the excuse he was fired. It is well known that Hurd is an asshole (in the technical sense as defined in the management book written by Bob Sutton called "The No Asshole Rule"). This was the only way HP could get rid of him without having Wall Street react negatively. Wall Street doesn't care if he is an asshole. In fact, professional money changers on Wall Street are predominantly assholes, so they love assholes, but only if they bring in money. Anyone who is shocked that HP was hiring professional sex workers as hostesses needs to wake up and realize that this is all part of Free Market Capitalism. When people care solely about money, ethics and morality are just commodities to be bought and sold.

  10. FYI, our spam filter quarantined the WebGuild e-blast immediately, no doubt triggered by "Porn" in the subject line. Always a good idea to choose those subject lines carefully…
