U.S. Ranks 26th In Global Broadband

According to Speedtest.net the U.S. ranked 26th in internet download speed. South Korea had he fastest internet speed. With the exception of Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and U.S. most of the countries in the top 50 were from Europe. The surprises were Ghana and Maldives which had speeds comparable to the lower ranking European countries. The results were based on millions of tests conducted between Nov 24, 2007 to May 25, 2010 around the globe. The value is the rolling average throughput in Mbps over the past 30 days where the mean distance between the client and the server is less than 300 miles.
