China Unicom, one of the largest phone companies in the world and the second largest in China has dumped Google from its line up of Android phones reports the Financial Times.
“We are willing to work with any company that abides by Chinese law,” said Unicom’s president, Lu Yimin. “We don’t have any cooperation with Google currently.”
China Mobile, which is the largest mobile provider in China and maybe the world (the company has a market cap as big as Microsoft) would be next suggests the LA Times. That relationship has put Google on par with Baidu in mobile search.
