PHP Based Simple Cloud API Launches

simplecloudPHP people Zend have bought unlikely cloud providers Microsoft (PaaS), IBM, Rackspace (IaaS) have come together to launch the Simple Cloud API. The promise of a SINGLE API across Windows Azure, Rackspace Cloud Files, Amazon SimpleDB is very compelling for Application Builders and the Cloud Providers alike. This is the first effort towards a framework that bridges IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud camps. It would be interesting to see how VMware’s vCloud API plays into this.
