Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn‘s founder is giving up the CEO after just months. He will be replaced by Jeff Weiner who is currently president of the professional social networking site.

“I think LinkedIn has tremendous opportunities in front of it… We were profitable last year and we are on track to be profitable this year,” said Mr. Weiner to the NYT.

LinkedIn earns revenue from premium paid memberships, advertising and corporate partnerships.

Mr. Hoffman, who will become executive chairman, told the Times that he would remain actively involved in the company, helping Mr. Weiner with strategic plans.
