At precisely 9:01 AM PST, after President Barack Obama took the oath of office, the Government of the United States of America launched a new Website for the White House, which is the official office and residence of the President of The United States of America. The website is very similar to the election campaign site of President Obama. It has mouseovers for four of the main point that President Obama made during his campaign: change, economy, transparency, and public service. The website features a blog that will serve as a communication channel from the White House to the public, photographs, videos, slideshows, executive orders and proclamations. The President’s weekly video address will also be posted on the site. Below is the message from the website:
The White House provides timely and accurate information about the President’s latest events and public statements. Here you’ll find photos, video, and blogs, as well as proclamations, executive orders, and press releases.
WhiteHouse.gov will be a central part of President Obama’s pledge to make his the most transparent and accountable administration in American history.

Seems like you weren’t paying a lot of attention to the inauguration yesterday. Obama was sworn in at 12:05 Eastern, 9:05 Pacific (about 5 minutes late, but not 3 hours early, as you suggest).

Wasn’t the time he took office 12:00pm Eastern Time / 9:00am Pacific Time? Something to do with that Constitution thing . . .

Thank you for pointing it out. It has been corrected to PST from EST to reflect 9:01 PST.

Hey, does anyone know which portal engine whitehouse.gov is using? It looks pretty slick and scalable!
