Tech Party Keeps Rolling In Silicon Valley

By Daya Baran at April 22, 2008 3 Comments

I turn on the TV and all I hear about is high gas prices, rice shortages, mortgage crisis, the war in Iraq, and the elections. However, Silicon Valley seems to be in its own bubble. This year, I have practically been invited to at least 3 parties a week and I don’t see this stopping anytime soon. Here are some pictures from parties and events that I attended. I was fortunate to meet some of the rain makers in the valley.

(L to R) Brian Solis & Stowe Boyd; Daya Baran & Gabe Riveira, Founder, Techmeme

(L to R) Reshma Kumar & Chris Tolles, CEO, Topix; Avinash Kaushik, SMX Party

the party doesn’t look like it’s rollin’ for him! or
maybe he’s thinking about what it cost him? :-)

Ugh - c’mon man, we all like success, but there’s no need to be crass about the money the tech industry is making. One thing is the headline “Silicon Valley enjoying continuing tech boom.” It’s completely morninc to say “What is that? Forclosures and starvation? Pssh - none of that here! I’m partying and making it rain!” Have some class and sensibility, man. Especially on a list that goes to thousands of execs and businesspeople.
