Google Earthlink Wi-Fi Dead
Earthlink (NASDAQ:ELNK) is financially struggling, as the mortgage crisis deepens and Americans jump "home", internet access is one of the first to get cut. So today the company jumped ship on its committement to build a Wi-Fi network with Google in San Francisco. Earthlink CEO called San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and said we are out. Earthlink won the right to build the Wi-Fi network along with Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), which was expected to be the first in the country.
